Solar Panels on City-owned Buildings


Wall Street Journal reported on April 9th that the City of New York increased solar power capacity by installing solar panels on 10 city-owned buildings. The article further states that these 10 projects increase city's total solar production to 648 kilowatts, which is enough to power 143 households.   

Mayor Bloomberg has been spearheading the push for renewable energy and sustainable living through his initiatives such as this one. Actually, much of the blueprint for sustainability was laid out in the City’s ambitious doctrine known as PLANYC.
